Our review:Item Description:The Ionic Pro Ionic Air Purifier delivers quality, state-of-the art, ionic air purification, at home or office, for less than half the retail cost of some similar ionic air purification units. Working almost silently, the Ionic Pro circulates air by first putting a positive charge into the air, then attracting the air with negatively charged collection plates These collection plates trap irritants and allergens, like pet dander, dust, pollen --- even particles as small as 1 micron, releasing purified air back into the room. Better yet, it costs only pennies a day to operate 24/7 and there are no replacement filters to buy --- to clean up, simply wipe the collection blades clean and re-install . Safe and 'one touch' easy to use, Ionic Pro will give your family the clean air they need to stay healthy. The Ionic Pro is recommended for rooms up to 500 square feet. Comes with a 1 year limited warranty. Stylish, black unit is approximately 29' x 10.5' x 9',and 10 lbs, out of box.
Amazon.com Review:Rid a room of excessive dust, pet dander, and pollen for enhanced respiration without resorting to chemical cleaners with the innovative Ionic Pro ionic air purifier. The electrical air purifier operates at 120v AC and 60Hz to quietly circulate and clean indoor air. The purifier air filters air in to collect debris and allergens before releasing clean air back into the room.
The ionic air purifier works by emitting a positive charge into a room. Particles in the air likewise become positively charged. As air travels through the air purifier, allergens naturally gravitate and cling to the negatively-charged metal collection plates in the appliance. The air purifier features a grounded plug for use in grounded-style outlets. Energy efficient, the purifier allows users to choose between low, medium, and high power levels to best address a room’s size and allergen content without wasting energy. The air purifier works best in rooms up to 500 square feet in size. The purifier uses a LED display to indicate the selected power level. Another light indicates when the purifier requires cleaning. While many other air purifiers require the purchase of replacement filters, this model does not use filters. Users clean the purifier by wiping its collection plates clean with a rag according the cleaning directions outlined in the product manual. The purifier should be cleaned every four to five days. For user safety, the purifier should be turned off and then unplugged prior to cleaning. This item is intended for indoor use only and should be situated approximately 12 inches from the outlet. Do not use the purifier in bathrooms, near fireplaces, or in spaces with frequent exposure to flammable vapors. Ionic Pro offers a one-year warranty for this item. The air purifier measures 29 by 10-1/2 by 9 inches and weighs 10 pounds upon shipping.

Review of IonicPro Turbo Air Purifier
The ionicpro seemed to clean the air pretty well. The problems with the unit are that mine only lasted 17 months and then died, and the limited warranty is only for 1 year. Also, it was noisey while running at time, so you cannot sleep with it in the same room. For the $179 I paid, I would have thought it would last longer than 17 months. That's my biggest complaint.

Impressed
I must say I was a little skeptical before purchasing this item. I've battled with allergies ever since I can remember. I didn't think there was a product around that could help me. My allergist told me that I was practically allergic to the environment. So I figured trying this product couldn't hurt. I'm impressed. Since I've been using the large size ionic pro, my allergy attacks have reduced tremendously. I notice that when I went into another room where I did not have the ionic pro, my allergies began to act up (sneezing, watery eyes, congestion, etc). I do see a positive difference in my condition while I have been using this product. I've had it for approx. 2 months and I like it.

Extremely noisy, lots of work to clean, possibly dangerous!
I've had 2 of these for a few years. I've tried to make the best of them since they were so expensive. I've also bought new blades periodically.
After a few months, the unit will make an extremely loud noise even after cleaning the blades. Buying new blades doesn't help. The screeching sounds is sometimes intermittent and sometimes constant. The only option is to use it in a room that you aren't in.
I've tried vacuuming and cleaning the actual tower on the inside and blowing air inside it. It seems to help sometimes. I think that particles must get trapped inside, never release and cause the screeching.
I didn't know this at the time, but have since learned about the dangerous ozone emittence of the product. And am now thinking that could be the cause of some of my health problems that I didn't have before?
I'm not only disappointed with this product, I think it should be recalled and customers should be given refunds.

Why do I have to give this one star?
Instead of none. Cause that's what I'd rather give it. I just bought one of these at Dillards on sale for $35. Took it home, plugged it in and let it run for 5 hours in a bedroom with closed door. I come in later to a very clean-like smell which I find out is the ozone it produces. I must admit the ozone is a nice smell, but as they say, most things you like are bad for you. This is by far no exception to that saying. Reading reviews on this after-the-fact shows that ozone can be hazardous to your health and is actually in no way beneficial. Also, that night I was awoken to a screaching sound lasting about 5 seconds and the super bright blue LED went out. I was like 'oh great the thing just died and I haven't even used it a full day'. Well, the unit still worked, just the LED for High setting burned out. I have read other reviews on here that say the same happened. My assumption is that the LEDs aren't supposed to be that bright and that there is a resistor of wrong value in the circuit causing the LEDs to receive too much voltage. Not very reassuring as to the quality of the unit. So that's when I start researching this thing and find out it's better as a paperweight cause it offers no cleaning as determined by Consumer Reports and other sources. almost half the reviews on here say their unit just wont work anymore. Then I see that CS is a joke.
Basically, do NOT get this thing even if it is offered for free! It will not only be bad for your health, but you'll be constantly cleaning an air purifier that doesn't purify anything yet adds to your power bill.
Also, something to note: Sharper Image, the company that makes the similar Ionic Breeze units, LOST in a lawsuit against Consumer Reports for claims that their units are useless and unhealthy. What does that tell you? They then had to file for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
I will be promptly returning this to Dillards tomorrow.

Better than Sharper Image
This product produces Ozone. Get over it. (Ozone is O3 and makes a smell like after a thunderstorm) It is not super good for you, that being said, as long as you only have like 1 of these per floor, should be no problem.
This collects particles from the air very well, the blades are just BLACK after a week or two and the cleaning method of this is MUCH better than my 2 sharper image ones.
I will probably pick up another one of these pretty soon. I have had my first one for 3 years. I think there is a newer model of this too now. I imagine it also works very well.
